GM Melik is the Team USA Women's Captain at the 46th FIDE Chess Olympiad!
The 2026 U.S. Olympiad teams were announced in June, and the U.S. women's Team is heading to Samarkand, Uzbekistan!
GM Melikset Khachiyan returns as team captain, a role he has held since 2010. GM Liem Le joins the team as trainer this year.
The team will compete in the 11-round Chess Olympiad, held every two years.

Many thanks to IM David Martinez for inviting Mani to the GM/IM norm event that runs concurrently of the current edition of the Legends & Prodigies.
While six of the most prominent Spanish-speaking players go head-to-head in Legends & Prodigies, Mani is playing in the ten-player, nine-round league with a clear goal: giving players in full progression the chance to face strong opposition and battle for GM and IM norms.

Two of Melik's students got amazing results at the US Invitationals:
Jasmine Su took clear first place at the 14th Annual Haring National Tournament of Girls State Champions.
Renae Chen is the co-champion of the inaugural 1st Annual Ashley National Tournament of K-3 State Champions.

Jasmine was part of the 10-player invitational round robin organized by the Saint Louis Chess Club. She finished in 4th place, tied for 2nd, ahead of several higher-rated players.

Sarbartho Mani earns Silver Medal
Sarbartho Mani earns Silver Medal
Last round finished today, and Sarbartho got Silver Medal in a super strong field of the FIDE World Cadets Cup 2026 in Batumi, Georgia.
He competed in the U10 section among 150 other players from around the world in an 11-round event. He tied for 2nd place with 3 others. Tiebreaks were in his favor, and he received the Silver Medal.

Third place at the Armenian European Championship Qualifying Tournament for Girls Under 20. She went 5 out of 9 and placed at the top of her score group!

First place at the 2026 All Girls Nationals
Congratulations to Jasmine Su, who got shared first place in the U18 section at the 2026 KCF All-Girls Nationals in Chicago. She went undefeated, drawing only the Co-champion FM Megan Paragua.
She also took home the Blitz Championship title with a perfect score of 10/10.

Mani achieved the FM title by reaching FIDE Elo 2300 after gaining significant rating points at the Alicante tournament and the Menorca Open!
